Mines

The Mines casino game is Shuffle's take on the minesweeper format: a 5×5 grid, hidden gems and mines, and one decision that actually matters — how far to push before you cash out. You choose the number of mines before betting, every safe tile raises your multiplier, and one wrong pick ends the round. It's a Shuffle Original, built in-house, and it sits in the Shuffle Originals lobby alongside Plinko, Crash, and Limbo.

Mines runs at a 99% RTP with a 1% house edge on every configuration, from a single mine to the full 24. Payouts follow a fixed, published formula, so nothing about the multiplier ladder is hidden. Because this is Shuffle's own game rather than a licensed one, figures published for similarly named games elsewhere do not describe it.

Play Mines Free with 0.00 Bets

Strictly speaking, there is no separate demo build of Mines. There doesn't need to be, because the game accepts bets of 0.00. You can play complete rounds at any mine count, watch the multiplier ladder move, and practice cash-out timing without staking anything.

That's a better arrangement than a conventional demo. A zero-stake round runs the same math and the same provably fair outcome — not a modified practice version — so what you see at zero stake is what you get with real bets. There's no play balance to convert and nothing to withdraw, because nothing was ever at risk.

What free rounds won't do is predict a paid session. Every pick is an independent chance event, so a free run that cleared eight tiles at 10 mines says nothing about the next round. Use zero-stake play to learn the ladder and to find out how it feels to walk away at 3×.

Mines RTP, Volatility, and Specs

The Mines gambling game has a 99% RTP — a 1% house edge — on every mine count from 1 to 24. Every multiplier is the fair odds of your picks multiplied by 0.99, so no configuration returns more than another over the long run. There's no setting to hunt for and no hidden penalty for choosing the exciting one.

Volatility is yours to set rather than something the game imposes. Here's the shape of each band:

Maximum Win

The maximum payout is 5,148,297× your bet, reached by clearing every safe tile at 12 mines with 13 gems, or at 13 mines with 12 gems. That means a dozen consecutive correct picks on a half-mined grid, so treat the number as the outer boundary of the math rather than an outcome to plan around. The more useful document is our Mines multiplier chart, which lays out every payout for every mine count alongside the odds of reaching each rung.

How to Play Mines Online at Shuffle

The loop takes seconds to learn, and the whole game is in the last step.

• Open Mines from the Shuffle Originals lobby.

• Set your bet amount, or leave it at 0.00 to learn the game with nothing staked.

• Choose your mine count, anywhere from 1 to 24. The remaining tiles hide gems.

• Start the round and reveal tiles. Each gem raises your multiplier.

• Cash out after any safe pick to bank the current multiplier, or keep going for a higher one.

• Adjust the settings and go again. The game remembers your last-used bet and mine count.

Reveal a mine and the round ends immediately with the stake lost. There's no partial return — that's the trade for a ladder that climbs this steeply. New to the game? The how to play Mines guide walks through mine counts, multipliers, and cash-out decisions round by round.

The Controls in Full

Minimum and maximum bets depend on the currency you select, starting from 0.00, and your exact limits are shown in the bet panel before each round.

Choosing a Mine Count and Cashing Out

These two choices are the whole strategic surface of the game, and neither of them changes the edge.

The mine count decides the shape of the outcome. At 1 to 3 mines you'll clear several tiles most rounds and the ladder climbs slowly. At 16 or more, most rounds end on the first or second pick, and the ones that don't can pay extraordinarily. The long-run return is 99% either way.

Cash-out timing decides how much of a good run you keep. The honest way to handle it is to name a target multiplier before the round and take it when it arrives, rather than deciding under pressure with three gems already revealed. The tile you're about to click has no memory of the ones before it, so a run of safe picks never makes the next pick safer.

Auto Bet repeats rounds with the same settings, which is useful precisely because it removes the in-the-moment decision. Set the round count and the stop conditions before you start it.

Provably Fair Mines Rounds

Certification asks you to trust that an auditor tested the software at some point. Provably fair lets you verify the individual round you just played, which is the main reason to choose a Shuffle Original over a licensed game.

Each round's mine placement is generated from three inputs: a server seed, your client seed, and a nonce. Shuffle publishes the hash of the server seed before you pick a single tile, which commits the layout in advance and makes it impossible to change once your bet is placed. You supply the client seed and can rotate it at any time from the fairness panel. The nonce increments with every round, so the same seed pair never produces the same grid twice. When the server seed is retired it's revealed in full, and you can hash it yourself, check it against the commitment you were shown, and recompute exactly where the mines were.

The Provably Fair guide shows how to run that check step by step, including with an independent verifier rather than Shuffle's own.

Bankroll and Session Tips

Mines is quick, and quick games cost more per hour than they feel like they should.

• Set a session budget before the first round and treat it as spent.

• Pick your cash-out multiplier before the round, not during it.

• Use zero-stake rounds to learn how a 12-mine grid actually behaves before you fund one.

• Keep your mine count and stake steady. Raising either after a losing run is the most expensive habit in any casino game.

• If you use Auto Bet, configure the stop-loss and the take-profit first.

No system changes the odds. Every tile is placed randomly and every pick is independent, so clearing four gems in a row is the same evidence about the fifth tile as clearing none.

What Works and What Doesn't

Works: a 99% RTP stated plainly and held at every setting, volatility you control directly, a published payout formula, rounds you can verify yourself, zero-stake play with no separate demo build, and one wallet across the whole platform.

Doesn't: hitting a mine forfeits the whole stake, the 5,148,297× ceiling requires a run almost nobody completes, and the cash-out decision makes it easy to talk yourself into one more tile. If you'd rather not decide mid-round, Plinko resolves everything in one drop.

Verdict

Mines is the strongest argument for the Originals lobby. The return is high and identical wherever you set the dial, the risk profile is yours, and the grid was fixed before you touched it in a way you can prove afterward. It suits a player who wants a real decision mid-round and the discipline to take a multiplier when it arrives. It doesn't suit anyone who finds a forfeited stake hard to leave behind, because that's how most rounds end at the higher mine counts.

About Shuffle Games

Shuffle Games is Shuffle's in-house studio and the source of every Original on the site. The house style is visible across the set: stated house edges near 1%, fast rounds, player-controlled volatility, and verification on every game. Mines was built here rather than licensed in, so the figures on this page come from Shuffle and apply only to this game.

Playing on Mobile

Mines runs in your browser on desktop, tablet, and phone with no app to download. The grid is tap-friendly, rounds load fast, and your balance, bets, and cash-outs behave identically across devices. Your last-used bet and mine count carry over, so the game is set up the way you left it.

Promotions on Mines

Every bet on Mines earns XP toward Shuffle's VIP program, which runs on more than 50 permanent levels. Instant rakeback and daily bonuses unlock from the first tier, and weekly bonuses, rank-up rewards, priority support, and a dedicated host arrive further up. Terms apply. Mines play also counts toward the weekly race.

Originals and table-style games typically contribute less toward bonus wagering requirements than slots do, so read the contribution rate before clearing a bonus here. [VERIFY: confirm this contribution-rate claim against current bonus terms before publish.] Read the wagering requirement and the maximum bet while wagering together: exceeding the stake cap during a bonus is the most common way players void one.

Playing Mines with Crypto

Mines is funded straight from your Shuffle wallet. You can stake in BTC, ETH, LTC, SOL, USDT, USDC, DOGE, XRP, TRX, and SHFL, with no conversion step at the game. If you don't hold crypto, the onramp partners convert from major fiat currencies at the deposit stage. Withdrawals settle on-chain rather than waiting on banking hours — see how Shuffle's instant withdrawals work in practice.

Similar Games at Shuffle

If the pick-and-cash-out tension suits you, these are the closest relatives in the lineup.

• Floor Is Lava is Mines' closest relative: a bigger board where tiles sink each round and no position stays permanently safe.

• The Crash casino game keeps the cash-out decision but puts it under a clock: a multiplier rises until it stops, and you bail before it does.

• Shuffle's Plinko gambling game removes the mid-round decision entirely. You set risk and rows, drop a ball, and take whatever slot it lands in.

• The Limbo casino game is the fastest of the set: name a target multiplier, hit Bet, and the result appears instantly.

Responsible Gambling

You must be 18 or older, or the legal age in your jurisdiction, to play. Outcomes are determined by chance and no strategy changes the house edge, so play Mines for entertainment rather than as a source of income. Rounds here take seconds, which makes it unusually easy to play far more of them than you intended.

Loss and wager limits, session reminders, and self-exclusion are in your account settings through Shuffle Wise and take effect immediately. No tile is due, no mine count improves your expected return, and a run of safe picks tells you nothing about the next one. If you find yourself raising the stake to recover a loss, close the session. Support is available 24/7 through live chat. The responsible gambling information page has the full rundown.

Licensing and Fair Play

Shuffle's crypto casino operates under a Curaçao Gaming Control Board license (OGL/2024/1337/0628). Mines runs on Shuffle's own provably fair engine, and the multiplier formula is published rather than described, so both the math and the individual result are open to inspection.

Mines FAQ

How does the Mines gambling game work?

You bet on a 5×5 grid hiding gems and mines. You pick the mine count before the round, each gem revealed raises your multiplier, and you can cash out after any safe pick. Revealing a mine ends the round and forfeits the stake.

What is the RTP of Mines?

99%, which is a 1% house edge, on every mine count from 1 to 24. Every multiplier is the fair odds of your picks multiplied by 0.99, so no configuration returns more than another over the long run.

What is the maximum win in Mines?

5,148,297× your bet, reached by clearing every safe tile at 12 mines with 13 gems, or 13 mines with 12 gems.

Can you play Mines for free?

Yes. Mines accepts bets of 0.00, so you can play complete rounds at any mine count without staking anything. It's the same game with the same provably fair outcomes, not a separate build, so zero-stake rounds behave exactly like real ones — and predict nothing about them.

Is the Mines gambling game luck or skill?

Chance decides every tile. What you control is the shape of the risk: the mine count sets the volatility and your cash-out timing decides how much of a run you bank. No pattern or system changes the odds.

How do I verify a round?

Note the hashed server seed published before the round, set or rotate your client seed, and once the server seed is revealed, hash it, compare it to the commitment, and recompute the mine layout. It will match the grid you played.

How does Mines compare with slots at Shuffle?

Slots mines comparisons come up often, and the short answer is control. A slot fixes the volatility and the return in its math; Mines holds the return at 99% and hands the volatility to you. Slots also usually contribute more toward bonus wagering.

Can I play Mines on mobile?

Yes, in the browser on phones and tablets, with tap controls, the same features as desktop, and no app required.

Do my settings stay the same between sessions?

Yes. Mines keeps your settings exactly as you left them. If you leave the game with a certain bet amount set, that same amount will be preset when you return, along with your mine count. You can adjust either at any time before starting a round.
